- educate and inform our members and the Catholic community of our commitment to promote the ordained priesthood and religious life;
- encourage and affirm the ordained priesthood and vowed religious life as a positive lifestyle;
- inspire and call forth a well-trained and dedicated corps of leaders, through the perseverance of a spiritual and practical aspect, at all levels of Serra.
What we Do

- Meet monthly for “First Friday Mass” with Chaplain, Fr. Larry followed by coffee/donut social hour
- Host quarterly "Holy Happy Hour" beginning with Mass, social time and a guest speaker
- Sponsor “Making it Personal with Bishop Joensen” radio show on Iowa Catholic Radio
- Recognize Catholic Schools Week - annually, the last week of January
- Host Catholic Sister Appreciation Tea & Ice Cream Social for the sisters of the DM Diocese - during Catholic Sisters Week, March 8-14
- Host New Member Induction Mass, Mass to Pray for deceased Serrans by Name and Milestone Membership dinner - May
- Celebrate our newly ordained priests and deacons - June and July
- Host Seminarian Luncheon - August
- Host Priest Appreciation Picnic- September (Monday following "Priesthood Sunday" - last Sunday in September)
- Host Deacon Appreciation Luncheon - Fall Study Day in November (Deacon Sunday - 2nd Sunday in October)
- Host Bishop’s Burse dinner – November (Sunday evening before Thanksgiving)
- Support 31 Club (Serrans pray a daily rosary for Vocations)
- Support two “Seven Serrans” teams to say daily prayers for Vocation Directors Fr. Ross Parker (Diocese of DM) and Fr. Jared Holzhuter (Diocese of Madison)
- Provide birthday gifts to our Seminarians
- Invite members to pray a monthly Holy Hour for Vocations
- (Spiritually) Adopt a Seminarian program – August (Supporting our seminarians until ordained priesthood)
- Altar Server Recognition program – (in conjunction with parish ministry)
- Hispanic Outreach program
